Development of a Park at the current waste dumping site is important for stopping the production of toxic leachate which contaminates the land, surrounding riverbed, underlying aquifers and exposing the local community to numerous health hazards. Land remediation and conversion into a recreational park will improve the environmental and aesthetic quality of the area.
